As a reminder, especially to pregnant women and immunosuppressed persons, cat feces can sometimes transmit a disease called toxoplasmosis. Therefore, always remember to wash hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter. For further information, consult your doctor. Unused cat litter poses no toxoplasmosis threat. Do not use this product as a traction aid because product becomes slippery and slick when wet.
- Fill your clean litter box at least 1.5 inches high with Fresh Step Crystals. For best results, do not add other litter or pet products to the box.
- Regularly remove solid waste.
- Every 20 to 30 days, empty entire litter box. For more than 1 cat, shorten the usage cycle. Replace litter every 10 to 15 days for 2 cats, and every 7 to 10 days for 3 cats.
Additional Instructions
- Only dispose of used cat litter in trash. Do not flush, bury or dispose of it outdoors, in gutters or storm drains to avoid environmental contamination.
- Not for internal use. Not meant for use as compost or as a traction aid.
- Store in a cool, dry place. Product filled by weight; some settling may occur.
If you’ve recently switched to Fresh Step® Crystals, your cat may need a little time to adjust. This is the case with any litter. You can make the transition easier for your cat by mixing one part Fresh Step® Crystals to one part old litter for a few days to a week. After one week, empty the box completely and refill with only Fresh Step® Crystals.
